This Month at Shanghai there
are going to be TWO comedy nights! This one is an a girl
extravaganza (okay there will be a few men and no Trevor we will not
dress you up like a woman)
This is a fundraiser for VDAY Ottawa , To stop Violence against women
and girls.
The cost is 6 dollars ..this gets you and evening of laughter and then
karaoke after wards with the amazing and talented Chinadoll. Come and
enjoy Shanghai 's famous dumplings and excellent cocktails
Our MC will be the one and only Trevor Thompson and local lady laugh
talent Like Becca MacDonald,Rachelle Todd,Emily O,Chelsea
O'Connor,Jennifer Hayward,Jennifer Woodworth,Catherine Doucette-Smith
and a few surprises.

Every month, artists gather at the
Shanghai to draw together for a few hours and create memorable and fun
'jams'. Come out and see what all the fuss is about! All welcome, event
is free, materials provided.
The collaborative nature of the jam means no one knows exactly how a
story will turn out or what will happen next for everyone's characters.
Crazy twists and silliness make the once a month outing a treat not to
be missed.
Hope to see you there. March's theme is MADNESS! So dust off your
straightjackets and prepare to draw a few maniacs >^_^<

Every time you hear
about a comic jam, you want to participate, but for some reason it just
hasn't happened. Or, you've come out to one and yearn to return and
shake your creativity right down to your graphite stained fingers.
OR you're a comic jam veteran and wish there were TWO of them per month
instead of only one.
Whatever is the case, February is COMIC JAM AMNESTY month. Come out, be
it your first time, second time or 77th time. Share your ideas, bounce
them off one another! Engage in lively conversation with the Press.
The NEW Ottawa Comix Jam is successful because _you_ make it so!
Clayton Jacobs will be leading the February Jam and we are open for
thematic suggestions.

The best of the Jam's artwork is going to be put out in book form May
2010 to celebrate the Jam's 1st anniversary.

we've got a comedy night that's pretty damn funny so far.
Throw two and two together and what we got? We get tons of people
choking on wantons and rice chunks a plenty whilst listening to some
cool comics strut their stuff.
