CENTRETOWN ART TOUR

Take a Walk and Discover: Ottawa’s 2nd Centretown Art Tour (CAT) on July 13, 2008

A group of downtown Ottawa artists invites the curious to prowl through their homes and studios during the second annual Centretown Art Tour (CAT). This one-day only self-guided tour will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2008, from 10am to 6pm. Tours are free and many works will be for sale.

After the success of the first edition of the CAT in July 2007, the experience is being happily repeated. During the tour, visual artists, of a wide variety of media, will be opening up their creative spaces for guests to explore.

Ravenswing Indie Night 2008

Fundraiser For Ravenswing Fair 2008         Friday, April 18, 2008 at 9:00pm to 1:00am

The Ravenswing DIY Fair proudly presents an evening of short films and performances by Ottawa-based independent artists and musicians. Gathering at the Shanghai Restaurant, we will show short films by Pixie Cram, Ainsley Walton and Marigold Edwards followed by performances from spoken word artist Horus Heavens, web comic artist Colin White, and musicians Mary Ellis, Gianna Lauren and the return of the locally well-loved Leslie Dishslayer.

The Ravenswing Indie Night will be a fundraiser to help cover the costs to operate the upcoming fair in May 2008. Held in Minto Park, The Ravenswing DIY Fair features crafts and zines by local urban artists as well as skill-sharing workshops and performances by poets, musicians, and others.

At The Ravenswing Indie Night we’ll also be running a raffle for items from our Ravenswing vendors plus some treats from supportive local independent businesses. We hope to see you there!
